OUR FOUNDERS  
Asia Business Consultants Inc was founded in May 1959 as Personnel Consultants, Inc. by:
Mr Vicente R Jayme, economist and development banker, who later served as Secretary of Finance in the Cabinet of President Corazon Aquino;
Dr Gaston Z Ortigas who later became President and Dean of the Asian Institute of Management;
Dr Arturo Tanco Jr, who later became Minister of Agriculture in the Cabinet of the late President Ferdinand Marcos;
Mr Orlando P Peña, Founding Secretary-General of the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP) and four—term PMAP President, now President of the firm.
Prof Meliton V Salazar, senior professor of the Asian Institute of Management, a professional manager and consultant of several corporations.
In 1976, the firm became an affiliate of the Private Development Corporation of the Philippines (PDCP), the largest privately owned development bank in the country. PDCP was then headed by Mr Vicente R Jayme.
In 1991, ABC officers, employees and a number of international associates acquired ownership of the firm.
